When you go skiing, you come across some beautiful peaks like Mt Nanda Devi Kamet, Nilkanth, Mana Parwat, Beethartoli, Ghori Parbat, Dunagiri, Hathi Parbat, and Nar Parbat. While skiing, you will also come across the Gorso Reserve forest, a part of the Nanda Devi National Park and comprises some rare Himalayan wildlife. According to many believers, this temple is supposed to have been used by Hanuman for taking some rest when he was given the responsibility to rescue Laxmana, younger brother of Lord Rama, by bringing Sanjivani from the great Himalayas. Once you are in Auli, you cannot miss the scenic beauty of Nandaprayag (one of the 5 Prayags), which is the merging point of two holy rivers- Nandakini and Alaknanda and also marks the starts of the two famous pilgrimage centers, namely Badrinath and Kedarnath. Not only this, but Auli is also known for Jyotirmath, which was founded by Adi Guru Shri Shankaracharya, which serves as a Hindu pilgrim center. Not only this, but Jyotirmath is also considered as the winter home for Lord Badri who’s idol is believed to shift during winters from Badrinath to Jyotirmath.

You can reach the destination both by air and land. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 270-kilo meters from Auli if you are coming by flight. Indira Gandhi International, about 480-kilo meters from Auli, is the nearest international airport. If you want to enjoy the train ride, then we have multiple railway stations. Among those, the Rishikesh railway station is 250-kilo meters, and Dehradun Railway station, which is 290-kilo meters are the nearest.
